  Nick Colagiovanni started at wide receiver this past season for the Central Ct Blue Devils. He led the team with 16 catches for 240 yards and 3 touchdowns. He started his career back with the Colts, playing 5 seasons for the Blue and White. He played QB, TE, and safety for the Colts before moving on to Plainville High School. Nick’s freshman year he played quarterback before moving to receiver his sophomore season. Nick had 58 catches that season for 1011 yards and 7 touchdowns. Nick played his last 2 years at New Britain High School where he won 2 state championships. His career numbers at NBHS were 64 catches for 1300 yards and 18 touchdowns. Nick was selected 1st team all state by The Hartford Courant, New Haven Register. He was 1st team New Britain Herald All-Star and 1st team Fairfield County All-State.

BRIAN SPARKS #84

A Senior Wide Receiver, who Played in seven games (2003) on special teams, making his collegiate debut at Buffalo (Sept. 20). The Kendall Madison Award was given to Brian Sparks. A former walk-on, Sparks was recognized for being a “strong team player who’s dedication, hard work and outstanding citizenship best exemplify the strong spirit of the UConn Huskies.”  While in High School he Lettered three years apiece in football and baseball, captained both teams as a senior…Was named All-Conference as a wide receiver in 1998 and 1999 while also earning the All-Conference punting nod as a senior in 1999.  Member of both the Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society …Hartford Courant All-Academic

 

NIKO KOUTOUVIDES  #53

Taken with the 20th pick in the fourth round (118th overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft.   Earned honorable-mention All-State and All-Conference honors at Plainville (Ct.) High. Was Team Captain and selected team’s Most Valuable Player. Majored in Organizational Leadership and Supervision.

 

Ryan Ferguson & RJ Anderson also made a run for the NFL with the New England Patriots and Oakland Raiders in 2004.
